At Nidino, we believe that caring for children bears responsibility — and responsibility requires the highest standards. That is why we invest a lot in the selection, training and support of our day families. So that parents can confidently entrust their child — and children flourish in a safe, loving environment.
Our admission process is deliberately demanding. Only around 5% of applicants ultimately become part of the Nidino platform. Why Because we expect more than sympathy for children — we are looking for genuine commitment, reliability and a supportive environment.
Every prospective childminder or childminder goes through a multi-stage selection process:
1 - Personal interview — to assess motivation, attitude and experience.
2 - Home visit — to ensure that the home is child-friendly, safe and lovingly designed.
3 - Verification of household members — all must present an accurate criminal record extract (certificate of good conduct).
Only those who overcome these hurdles will be taken to the next level — educational and legal qualification.
All Nidino childminders complete compulsory basic training for daycare workers, an emergency aid course for toddlers and training in Nidino's educational concept.
Among other things, it covers:
- Creating a safe and inspiring learning environment,
- Development-oriented support for children,
- Children's needs and emotional attachment,
- Observation & targeted support in everyday life.
In addition, our day families are registered with the relevant municipal authorities and are regularly checked by them. Liability insurance is provided for all care, as required by law.
Nidino is a member of kibesuisse, the national industry association for childcare. This not only obliges us to comply with high standards, but also allows us to exchange ideas with other providers, further education and access to professional expertise.
For us, responsibility does not end with mediation. We support every day family continuously — through our educational team, regular feedback meetings and quality checks.
In addition, through exchange formats, community offers and fair pay, we create an environment in which caregivers remain motivated — and are passionate about what they do in the long term.
Our day families come from a wide variety of walks of life: Some have educational training, others have many years of experience as parents or grandparents. What they all have in common is a passion for giving children a stable, supportive environment — and the desire to make a real difference in young people's everyday lives.
Childcare is a matter of trust — and trust deserves care. That is why Nidino relies on strict selection, comprehensive training and consistent quality control. In this way, we ensure that every child at Nidino is not only cared for, but also seen, supported and accompanied.
